WILLIAM NOWIK “Pan Symphony in E Minor” SEALED 1974/USA/Mango….A private press lp that has somehow slipped under the radar for the last 40 years. It's pretty amazing that an lp with a cover looking like this, and music that sounds like this does, doesn't seem to have been documented anywhere. Having pressed the record in 1974, label owner Tom and artist William sold this lp without much success. Having been shunned by local distribution and record stores, Tom took some with him on a trip to the West Coast only to offer them to mom and pop bookstores. This record was NEVER serviced to radio, and had many issues getting any type of sales due to the fact store owners were worried about the lack of vocals on the record. For the most part this album was only sold in private bookshops in random cities taken on the path to San Fran, so this may explain why record collectors are still in the dark about this one. This is a flat original MINT copy!, don't miss this one as it's only going one way!, highly recommended!, a copy sold on ebay a few weeks ago for $650+ item # 170217639632. ATTENTION: IT APPEARS THAT THE FEW COPIES OF THIS LP THAT HAVE BEEN FOUND WERE WARPED AND OR HAD HEAVY STORAGE WEAR. THIS COPY IS AS CLOSE TO FLAT AS YOU WILL GET. THERE IS ONLY ONE SPOT WITH A LIGHT STORAGE STAIN. I HAVE PLAYED THE RECORD THROUGH ONCE AND IT PLAYS PERFECT WITH NO DISTRACTIONS AND CRYSTAL CLEAR SOUND/FIDELITY. THE RECORD LOOKS AND PLAYS BEAUTIFUL. THIS WILL BE ONE COPY OF VERY FEW OUT THERE THAT ARE FLAT!! DON'T MISS THIS ONE! Each side is made up of multiple suites that play like one long song. There are no visible breaks in the music, the vinyl itself looks as if one song was pressed. Electric guitar, acoustic, electric violin and other instruments are used to form this amazing musical soundscape. It's a fantasic progressive piece that contains tons of movement. Sounds like Pink Floyd at times, at other times it's killer acid folk, and can be compared to many UK or US prog folk acts of the time. It's unlike much else out there.
