Description
Victor/Victrola Record LabelLot of 7HMV Red SealSingle Sided78rpm Records Unless otherwise noted, the following records have been visually graded as they were not found in the original owner's catalog. Frequent buyers to my auctions know that my uncle graded his records very accurately. I've tried to follow his grading system, describe thoroughly and grade much more conservatively, but I am by no means the expert he was. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me via Ask seller a question link The following 10" records are included in the lot: (please see grade rating system below) 64778 Grade: E-Nice high shine: some light surface scratching; nothing deep-no chips or cracksA) Little Mother of Mine~John McCormack 64607 Grade: E-Nice shine-Scattered ligher scratches & scuffs throughout-nothing deep however. No cracks or chipsA) A Perfect Day~Alma Gluck 64711 Grade: E+Super high shine -one light scratch- No cracks or chipsA) There, Little Girl, Don't Cry (A Life Lesson)~ Evan William 64864 Grade: ENice high shine -some light surface scratches;light scuffing- No cracks or chipsA) Sunrise and You~ Edward Johnson 64616 Grade: ENice high shine -some faint surface scratches & scuffing; No cracks or chipsA) Happy Days~ Mabel Garrison 64747 Grade: E-Decent shine -little more surface scratching & scuffing- No cracks or chipsA) I'm A-Longin' fo' you~ Sophie Braslau 64911 Grade: E+Nice high shine -some faint surface scratches-one small scuff- No cracks or chipsA) The Garden of Memory~ Emilio de Gogorza Refer to:1973A (my personal identification of this lot) Note on grading: These records were an inheritance from a family member who was a respected record dealer & collector. Among the collection was an extremely detailed book cataloging each record's grade based on the VJM Grading System below.  While I am not personally able to verify each record's grade, I can attest to the fact that the entire collection has been stored properly with each record placed vertically in a paper sleeve inside of covered plastic totes. They have not been disturbed since the original owner had them other than when they were carefully moved to our location or when they were being photographed for auction.                                                                     The VJM Grading SystemN    As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed). N-   Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage. E+  Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets. E    Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches. E-   Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record, few light scratches. V+  is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced. V    Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive. V-  Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.
