The Residents 1972 Santa Dog Only 300 Pressed Ralph Records Original Super rare unplayed 45 150/300 Start Price USD 0.99 Current Price USD 1,800.00 Time Left - Bid Count 16 Buy It Now Price USD 3,000.00 Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, September 05, 2008 End Time Monday, September 15, 2008 Location Ruston, LA See more about 'The Residents 1972 Santa Dog Only 300 Pressed' Description Up for auction we have the holy grail for Residents fans.  This is an original Santa Dog double 45 from 1972.  The vinyl has never been played.  Both records are in fantastic condition.  These records are extremely rare.  Only 300 copies were pressed.  This one is numbered 150/300.  It also has a personal note from the band to my friend whom I am selling this for.  It reads To Roland who helped us get our start.  This is a great piece of Residents history.  One was sent to Richard Nixon and one to Frank Zappa.  If you are reading this than you probably already know all about this record though.  You also know the story about the cover.  The covers were sealed before the silkscreen had time to dry.  When they were opened, the covers were damaged due to being stuck together.  As you can see this one is the same even though it is not too bad.  Many were totally destroyed while opening.  This cover also shows some shelf wear.  However, you will not find a cover that is not damaged if you can ever even find a copy to buy.  The vinyl however has not been played.  Please take a look at the super size pictures.  I want bidders to know exactly what they are bidding on.  I am placing a reserve on this auction.  The reserve is under $2,000 which is a very good price for this record.  I have seen copies sell for over $3,000.      There is also a note from Homer Flynn to my friend pictured.  This is not included in the auction.  I just wanted to show bidders where this record came from.  The friend I am selling this record for is a close friend of all the Residents.  He used to play and party with them even before they were the Residents.  He actually played on the pre Santa Dog tapes.  I will also be selling First Pressings of Third Reich and Finger Prince.  Please check my other auctions this weekend.  Shipping and insurance will be paid by the winning bidder.  I will charge what it costs.  I will not make any money on shipping or insurance.  If you have any questions, please ask.  Happy bidding.
