huggy-buggy Store Featuring HAL HOWARD singing "I LIKE YOU", A song published by Emory Keith of the later BE-KAY LABEL! b/w "I TRADED MY HEART FOR A HEARTACHE".GREAT COUNTRY / POP DESIGNED TO APPEAL TO TEENAGERS, ACTUALLY THE FIRST RELEASE ON THE WEE REBEL LABEL of COLUMBUS, GA. Recorded by the late BEN PARSONS who later changed the label name to TOMAHAWK RECORDS. COLLECTORS IN CANADA, ENGLAND and GERMANY consider this area's recordings the "ROOTS OF ROCK AND ROLL". This recording features HAL HOWARD and a band of some of the best local musicians of the area. The late Ben Parsons recorded many singers in this southern U.S. area, including SALADIN (Tony D'Angelo), VERN EDWARDS, BILLY REED, CURLEY MONEY, JOHNNY BARFIELD, JR., SPEC AND DOYLE, JOHNNY SHUR, THE ABSTRACTS, SAMMY SMITH and the REBELAIRES, BECKY LEE BECK and many others. This is classic 50's country rock with great quality sound. The late ED MENDEL also produced his records with this studio. This record APPEARS VERY GOOD++ TO MINTY and is recorded with strong sound. Minimal surface noise from very few plays. This copy happens to be THE LAST COPY of mine, and this was found virtually unplayed in Ben Parsons' estate. I recorded both as a musician and a singer at Ben's studio on many records in the 50's and 60's and happen to personally know the man who financed this session, the late EMORY KEITH never pressed more than 500 copies of any record, more than half of which were mailed to deejays and the rest given to stores on consignment and this record could very well be one of the last in existence!
