Description
DESCRIPTION The pictures you see are of the actual items you are bidding on. I never use "stock" pictures that hide any blemishes or problems. For your consideration and bidding enjoyment, I present this lot of approximately 2,800 LPs, box sets and 45s. There are around 500 of the 45s, several box sets, and the rest are LPs (singles and doubles). The few that I have been able to look at appear to range from the 1950s to the 1980s, maybe a few newer or older. Most of these were acquired last year at an estate sale. The sale was conducted by one of those companies that charge a commission to organize and run the sale. I tried to verify where and over what period of time the collection was accumulated, but did not have much luck. One of the sales people told me that he believed the owner had been involved in the music business but did not know in what way. The records have been sitting in one of my bedrooms since then. My original intention was to sort through them, keep a few for my personal collection, and sell the rest individually. Unfortunately my plans have changed due to unforeseen circumstances, and I do not have the time to go through such a huge number of records. I considered seperating them into groups ( Jazz, Rock, Metal, etc), and selling them that way, but decided it would take too much time. As a result, Ebayers now have the opportunity to bid on an instant collection for personal use, or use them to open a record store! PARTIAL LIST OF ARTISTS Following is a list of some of the artists. There are probably hundreds more that I am not listing! CONDITION I hate surprises when I buy records online without being able to first inspect them, so I will try to accurately describe the condition of this lot. I do not use letter (VG-, NM ) or numerical rating scales ( 1-10 ) because these are totally subjective and open to individual interpretation. I have seen records graded as "Mint" which I would consider a "G-" at best. LPs I have physically looked at only about one-third of the LPs. I DID NOT CLOSELY INSPECT EACH RECORD AND I DID NOT TEST PLAY ANY OF THEM. I quickly went through them looking for cracked or broken LPs (I did not find any). The other two-thirds of the LPs I looked at the covers only, as I counted them. I did not remove any from the jackets. Most of those I looked at, especially the jazz, seemed to be in nice, playable condition. The overall condition ranged from well played, showing signs of a lot of use, to near perfect condition ( I found two or three still factory sealed ). The condition of the jackets ranged from showing wear and tear (split seams, writing, stickers, etc) to still in shrink wrap and two or three still factory sealed. I did find some colored vinyl, promo inserts, and an occasional import or promo item. I did find quite a few scarce and hard to find items in both the LPs and the 45s. 45s I did not spend a lot of time with the 45s. I quickly counted them and listed various artists and label names, as I did with the LPs. I found 15 or 20 that were badly cracked or chipped, and threw those out. Most of the 45s have no sleeves and quite a few need cleaning. These did not seem to be in as good a condition as the LPs. They ranged from well played (showing wear and/or surface marks), to shiny, near perfect visual appearance. I saw a number of EPs, as well as colored vinyl and a promo or two. Genres I found a very wide variety of genres in the group of 900 or so records that I looked at. There were a lot of rock, jazz, soul, pop, country, folk; some disco, blues, soundtracks; and a few classical and opera LPs. The remaining two-thirds of the collection may or may not be of similar composition and condition. PAYMENT Payment must be through PayPal only, NO EXCEPTIONS. No checks, money orders, I.O.U.s, or livestock! Payment must be received within three (3) days from end of auction. By placing a bid on this item, you are entering into a legally binding contract, and are agreeing to the terms of this auction. I reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone with zero or low positive feedback, numerous negative feedbacks, private feedbacks, or a pattern of retracted bids. Such cases will be dealt with on an individual basis. DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PAY !! I will file appropriate complaints with eBay and PayPal against all violators. SHIPPING AND HANDLING Due to the large number of records and the great weight of this lot, I STRONGLY advise local pick up only! I do not have the time to personally pack up all these records, and rent a truck to transport them to the Post Office for Media Mail delivery, so please do not ask. A local UPS Store will pack up and ship this lot (between 25 to 30 large boxes) by ground freight to the lower 48 states for around $2,100. HOWEVER, if you have connections with a licensed and insured nationally known shipper who would come to my location, remove the records, then pack them up and ship to you for less money, I am willing to work with you on this. But, YOU must make ALL the arrangements in advance, YOU must pay the shipping company, and YOU ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RECORDS AFTER THEY ARE LOADED! My only participation will be to meet them and give them access to load up. IMPORTANT!!!!... you MUST email me no later than TWO DAYS BEFORE THE END OF THIS AUCTION, if you want me to consider shipping. ALL records must be removed from my location within 10 days of receipt of cleared payment by my bank. TERMS OF SALE Due to the enormous size of this collection, and because I was unable to visually inspect most of them, this sale will be as is with no returns. Please understand this BEFORE you bid! If you need additional information, please contact me through the "Ask seller a question" link, before placing a bid. I want all bidders to feel comfortable, and I will respond as quickly as possible. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO ASK A QUESTION! Give me time to answer. I have listed this lot with a modest reserve price which I am sure you will agree is in line with a collection as large and varied as this one. You still have the opportunity to own these records at a Bargain Price! LET BIDDER DEMAND DETERMINE THE FINAL VALUE ! THANKS FOR VISITING MY AUCTION AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING !
