Description
We now have hundreds of programs and Thousands of episodes . This Time...... OLD TIME RADIO PRESENTS! "THE SAINT" 87 Episodes, Over 40 hours of Entertainment. 2 CD Set An Early Christmas Present! Purchase any 5 listings and receive "ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS" Free!! ****** Some of these programs were recorded in the early 1930's and 1940's so the sound may not be state of the art that we know today. That is part of the charm of these programs in that what you are hearing is the same thing that people heard when they tuned into these programs. These programs are a part of our country history known as "The Golden Age of Radio". A great number of episodes of these programs have been lost, never to be reproduced, and we do not want to see any more programs disappear. Please join us in perserving this portion of Americana so is doesn't disappear completely. Thank you for looking. Happy Bidding. ****** You may be able to find MP3 discs for less and we could offer ours for less also if we were to cut costs. We could write the title of the program on the disc but we prefer to have a picture lable with the title of the program printed on it; We could put the CD in a paper or plastic sleeve but, again, we prefer to use a quality, sturdy plastic jewel case for each Cd.; we also prefer to use a picture for the jewel case along with a booklet listing the episodes on the CD. We enjoy what we do and we appreciate the friends we have made here on Ebay over the years and we pride ourselves on offering quality products so that is what we will keep producing. Vincent Price portrayed the Robin Hood-inspired crime-fighter Simon Templar, AKA The Saint, in this popular series that ran from 1947 to 1951. A wonderful detective drama, written by Leslie Charter, a Chinese-English crime novelist. The scripts were fantastic as were the cast of characters and the music. When The Saint was developed for radio, Vincent Price was not the first choice, Tom Conway was. However, I think anyone who has ever heard this great show, can agree unequivocally that Vincent Price's style and voice made the show and as such he was the perfect choice. This 2 CD set contains all of the available episodes of The Saint, 87 episodes, Over 40 hours of listening enjoyment Disc 1 1 The Connelly Silver Mine 07/31/1944 2 Monkey Business 01/21/1945 3 Murder on the High Seas 10/01/1947 4 A Gangster District Attorney 10/15/1947 5 Color Blind Killer Aboard Ship 10/22/1947 6 Old Man's Car 10/29/1947 7 The Saint Goes Underground 12/17/1947 8 Nineteen Santa Clauses 12/24/1947 9 Greed Causes Murder 10/29/1947 10 The Blond Who Lost Her Head 05/26/1948 12 Unhappy Homocide 03/03/1948 13 Fake Amnesia Killer 11/13/1949 14 The Cake That Killed 01/08/1950 15 The Purloine 01/15/1950 16 The Lonesome Slab 01/22/1950 17 Murder of a Champion 04/30/1950 18 Prizefighter 06/04/1950 19 The Sinester Sneeze 06/11/1950 20 The Music Murder 06/18/1950 21 Real Gone Guy 06/25/1950 22 Search for a Killer 07/02/1950 23 Contract Out on the Saint 07/09/1950 24 Problem of the Peculiar Payoff 07/23/1950 25 Death of the Saint 07/16/1950 26 Fighter's Contract 07/16/1951 27 Author of Murder 07/30/1951 28 Case of the Previewed Crime 07/30/1950 29 The Corpse Said Ouch 08/06/1950 30 Dossier on a Damsel 08/13/1950 31 Reflection on Murder 08/20/1950 32 Cupid and the Corpse 08/27/1950 33 Baseball Murder 09/03/1950 34 The Horrible Hamburger 09/10/1950 35 The Ghost That Giggled 09/17/1950 36 Dossier on a Dogone Dog 09/24/1950 37 It's Show Use 10/22/1950 38 Wanted a Husband 10/29/1950 39 Return of Harry Morgan 11/05/1950 40 The Dame on the Doorstep 11/12/1950 41 Plot in Prison 11/19/1950 42 No Hiding Place 11/26/1951 43 The Terrible Tintype 11/26/1950 44 The Young Detective 12/03/1950 Disc 2 1 The Monkey 12/10/1950 2 Simon Minds the Baby 12/17/1950 3 The Fight 12/17/1950 4 Christmas Eve Problem 12/24/1950 5 Santa Claus is no Saint 12/24/1950 6 Ladies Never Lie Much 01/07/1951 7 Simon Takes a Curtain Call 01/14/1951 8 The Actor 01/14/1951 9 The Tuba 01/21/1951 10 The Carnival 02/04/1951 11 The Missing Bridegroom 02/11/1951 12 Next of Kin 02/18/1951 13 Noon Deadline 02/18/1951 14 The Amnesia Victim 02/25/1951 15 The Big Swindle 02/25/1951 16 The Furniture Move 03/04/1951 17 The What-Not What Got Hot 03/04/1951 18 Button Button 03/11/1951 19 The Shipboard Mystery 03/11/1951 20 The Birds and the Bees of East Orange 03/18/1951 21 The Bookstore Murder 03/18/1951 22 Formula for Death 03/25/1951 23 The Intruder 03/25/1951 24 Simon Carries the Ivy 04/01/1951 25 The College Campus Threat 04/01/1951 26 Ghost Who Came to Dinner 04/08/1951 27 Hawthorne House Mystery 04/08/1951 28 Strange Bedfellows 04/15/1951 29 The Lady Who Learned 04/22/1951 30 Fishes Gotta Eat 04/29/1951 31 The Missing Husband 04/29/1951 32 The Red Rose 05/20/1951 33 Children's Crusade 05/27/1951 34 The Military Instructor 05/27/1951 35 The Train 06/03/1951 36 Peter the Great 06/24/1951 37 The Cowboy 07/01/1951 38 Missing Angel 07/08/1951 39 No My Darling Daughter 07/15/1951 40 The Nursemaid 07/15/1951 41 Saint Overboard 08/28/1995 42 The Saint Plays With Fire 09/04/1995 43 The Saint Closes the Case 09/11/1995 The file format is MP3, which should be playable on any CD player which accepts the MP3 format; on any computer with an MP3 player such as Windows Media Player or the Mac equivalent; and any portable MP3 player. These early radio episodes are true American treasures and are must listening to for anyone who grew up in that era. For those a bit younger, it is a window into how your parents and grandparents entertained themselves. Remember, this was the time before most folks had a TV. Before the days of video games, shopping malls, MTV, and the Internet, families used to sit in their living room each night to listen to radio shows such as Superman, Groucho Marx, The Avenger, Gunsmoke, Sherlock Holmes, and many others. When TV become popular in the 1950's, most of these shows went off the air, but they now live on. These shows, which are in the Public Domain, are very difficult to find. After a title search of the Library of Congress Copyright records, no copyright exists on this material; therefore making these programs Public Domain. This material does not violate any copyright laws, and is in compliance with Ebay's policies regarding Public Domain material.
