Description
We now have hundreds of programs and Thousands of episodes . This Time...... OLD TIME RADIO PRESENTS! "THE ADVENTURES OF WILD BILL HICKOCK" 2 CD SET 224 Episodes   ****** Some of these programs were recorded in the early 1930's and 1940's so the sound may not be state of the art that we know today. That is part of the charm of these programs in that what you are hearing is the same thing that people heard when they tuned into these programs. These programs are a part of our country history known as "The Golden Age of Radio". A great number of episodes of these programs have been lost, never to be reproduced, and we do not want to see any more programs disappear. Please join us in perserving this portion of Americana so is doesn't disappear completely. Thank you for looking. Happy Bidding. ****** You may be able to find MP3 discs for less and we could offer ours for less also if we were to cut costs. We could write the title of the program on the disc but we prefer to have a picture lable with the title of the program printed on it; We could put the CD in a paper or plastic sleeve but, again, we prefer to use a quality, sturdy plastic jewel case for each Cd.; we also prefer to use a picture for the jewel case along with a booklet listing the episodes on the CD. We enjoy what we do and we appreciate the friends we have made here on Ebay over the years and we pride ourselves on offering quality products so that is what we will keep producing. The western adventure, Wild Bill Hickock, which ran from 1951-1956, was first heard on the Mutual Network sponsored by Kellogg, and then by other advertisers. Guy Madison starred as Wild Bill Hickock. His sidekick "Jingles," was played by Andy Devine, who was fantastic in the role. What were Wild Bill and Andy looking for as they rode through the west? Why for adventure, of course, and they certainly found it. This is a great radio series for the whole family, don’t let the Wild Bill moniker scare you. These early radio episodes are true American treasures and are must listening to for anyone who grew up in that era. For those a bit younger, it is a window into how your parents and grandparents entertained themselves. Remember, this was the time before most folks had a TV. Before the days of video games, shopping malls, MTV, and the Internet, families used to sit in their living room each night to listen to radio shows such as Superman, Groucho Marx, The Avenger, Gunsmoke, Sherlock Holmes, and many others. When TV become popular in the 1950's, most of these shows went off the air, but they now live on. These shows, which are in the Public Domain, are very difficult to find.
