Description
We now have hundreds of programs and Thousands of episodes . This Time...... OLD TIME RADIO PRESENTS! "JUNGLE JIM" All Available Episodes on 5 MP3 CD's Spring Special If you are in the Continental United States and you purchase 10 or more listings I will include the shipping at NO EXTRA CHARGE ****** Some of these programs were recorded in the early 1930's and 1940's so the sound may not be state of the art that we know today. That is part of the charm of these programs in that what you are hearing is the same thing that people heard when they tuned into these programs. These programs are a part of our country history known as "The Golden Age of Radio". A great number of episodes of these programs have been lost, never to be reproduced, and we do not want to see any more programs disappear. Please join us in perserving this portion of Americana so is doesn't disappear completely. Thank you for looking. Happy Bidding. ****** FIRST BROADCAST: 2nd November 1935 LAST BROADCAST: 1st August 1954 CAST: Matt Crowley for virtually the entire run, part from a brief spell in 1938 when Gerald Mohr took over the role. Kolu, Jim’s sidekick, was played by Juano Hernandez, and Franc Hale played Shanghai Lil. ANNOUNCERS: Glenn Riggs and Roger Krupp. PRODUCER: Jay Clark WRITER: Gene Stafford This fifteen minute juvenile adventure show, based on the Alex Raymond comic strip in Hearst’s Comic Weekly, was broadcast on a weekly basis for many years. Week-by-week it followed the trials and tribulations of Jungle Jim Bradley, the intrepid adventurer. Interestingly, the first episode of the series not only continued the story line of Flash Gordon, which was another Hearst strip, but also used the same theme music. Before the days of video games, shopping malls, MTV, and the Internet, families used to sit in their living room each night to listen to radio shows such as Superman, Groucho Marx, The Avenger, Gunsmoke, Sherlock Holmes, and many others. When TV become popular in the 1950's, most of these shows went off the air, but they now live on. These shows, which are in the Public Domain, are very difficult to find. After a title search of the Library of Congress Copyright records, no copyright exists on this material; therefore making these programs Public Domain. This material does not violate any copyright laws, and is in compliance with Ebay's policies regarding Public Domain material. This auction is for all available episodes of JUNGLE JIM. 1935-1954 DISC 1 From To Episodes Episodes 1 thru 100 11/02/1935 09/25/1937 99 DISC 2 Episodes 101 thru 200 10/02/1937 08/26/1939 99 DISC 3 Episodes 201 thru 300 09/02/1939 07/26/1941 100 DISC 4 Episodes 301 thru 354 04/04/1942 08/08/1942 54 DISC 5 Wartime Adventures Episodes N444 thru R860 04/29/1944 04/19/1952 77 429   The file format is MP3, which should be playable on any CD player which accepts the MP3 format; on any computer with an MP3 player such as Windows Media Player or the Mac equivalent; and any portable MP3 player.
