A new recording on Reel to Reel tape Brand new recording released and recorded by Award Audio in 2005 now re-mastered from our digital high resolution master to 1/4" reel to reel tape. I am now offering it in various open reel formats. The music featured is played wonderfully by the musicians of the Detroit Chamber Trio. A customers review of the tape: “What we have here is an excellent recording and performance of new material done on the open reel format. Everything from the equipment used (detailed in the linear notes) to the final products sound is worldclass." "Great job Award Audio and MORE PLEASE!!!!!" For more information, music clips and the complete review please go to www.awardaudio.com/Trio-tape.html Risk Free! You must be happy with the recording or return it! These recordings are all custom made at 1:1 speed there may be up to a two week delay before shipment. Technical notes: These recordings were produced using purest recording techniques and hand chosen and selected components. Each link in the recording chain was chosen for its audio fidelity and ability to relay the true timbre, color and dynamic range that each musical element produces. The microphones used on this recording were the B.L.U.E. Dragonfly, in an ORTF array with a Neumann U89 or AKG C414 used on the cello and violin. In addition a pair of Oktava ML-52 ribbon microphones were used to capture the piano. Each of the channels were passed directly from the precision microphone preamps to a custom designed 24 bit ultra high resolution PC based recording console. Mixing was then carefully done in 32-bit depth to preserve fidelity. The final mix for this tape was then prepared in 32 bit 192K and then sent to a special 192k digital to analog converter and then the tape is produced at 1:1 speed. Very careful attention is given to cabling and power sources for every phase and then the transfer to tape. All equipment is powered by a unique power conditioning device by Iso Tek Systems. The tape machine is a restored, custom setup Technics RS-1500. Results of this effort is a very high quality transfer yielding the very best from the digital master and producing fidelity beyond that of the CD version of the program. The merits of this transfer from a digital high resolution master to analog tape I believe is evident even using a modest playback deck. Hope you enjoy!
