I find it one of her most exciting recorded performances, comparable in spirit to her famous Rameau for Discophile Francais. The Gautier record is remarkable for her exceptional Stravinsky performances, which includes the transcription she made together with Stravinsky himself of the Ballad from The Fairy Kiss. The Maurice Marechal LP features very special and personal renderings of Beethoven and Brahms Cello Sonatas. To hear such intimate performances of Marechal in recordings of such exceptional presence is a truly moving experience. The fourth record in this year set features the wonderful Agnelle Bundervoet performing the most superb and magical interpretations of Ravel Gaspard de la Nuit and Book One of Debussy Images I have heard. All these magnificent performances, from these greatest of French performers are complimented by the outstanding quality of the recordings.
