Lawrence University Conservatory of Music Appleton, Wisconsin 8 inch reel to reel recording of Jeffrey Middleton piano recital Monday evening, Feb. 18, 1974 at Harper Hall.  Included is Sonata No. 2(1936)-Hindemith, Phantasiestucke Op. 12(1837)-Schumann, Two Sonatas in C minor, K. 115 and 116-Scarlatti, Ondine-Debussy, La terrasse des audiences du Claire de lune-Debussy, Sonata No. 3, Op. 28-Prokofieff.  This is the eighteenth recital in the 1973-1974 Student Recital Series.  Mr. Middleton, a sophomore, is from the studio of Theodore Rehl.  This is most likely the only recording ever made of this event.  Tape has not been played.   Thanks for looking.   Jeffrey Middleton was born in Niagara Falls and received undergraduate musical training at The Juilliard School. He received his Masters of Music, Master of Musical Arts and Doctor of Musical Arts from the Yale School of Music. He has enjoyed a varied career as piano soloist, chamber musician, vocal accompanist and educator. Jeffrey made his Weill Hall debut recital at Carnegie Hall in 1995 and has appeared frequently in the New York area. He has toured in the United States and abroad, particularly in Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Africa. In addition, he has participated in music festivals worldwide including: the Winter Festival, Campos de Jordao, Brazil; Ernen Musikdorf, Switzerland; and the Charles Ives Summer Festival in Danbury, Connecticut. Under the artistic supervision of Betty Allen, Middleton established the Opera Theater Workshop in 1994. Presently, he is on the faculties of the School of American Ballet and the Harlem School of the Arts, and is a teaching artist with New York City Opera.
