Original BABY COVER King683' Description James Brown's first three record album releases had weird covers,with NO JAMES on any of them(1958"PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE"had pics of a white man and woman,from the hips down,walking up&down stairs,1959,"TRY ME!"has illustration of chick holding a cigarette and a gun),I guess the powers that be think they would have better"cross over"potential,if they could hide the fact that the artists were black?Or at least not see their black faces on the covers,so,this item offered here is the third and last release that Jmes was subjected to this,and it is titled,"THINK!",released in 1960,and has a cover with a little white baby,on a blue blanket,with fist holding up their head(sorry my scanner is not working,but,check the reissues and CD being offered by others,which includes the original cover),so,this is the original,King#683,with black crownless labels(side-note,all three of these James-less covers,were repressed with James covers a few years later)... CONDITION:COVER is very suitable for framing with minor seem splitting,spine is fine,face pic-cover,is very nice,no writing or rips or tears,minor age wear in the white area,like ring wear,but not bad at all,back cover picsof other record album releases on King in very nice shape,VINYL is not bad,about a VG/VG+,very playable,labels are clean...
