Description
This is an autographed copy of Gate 5 issue B: The Wayward. The record comes from the collection of journalist-author Jonathan Cott whose interviews with Partch formed the basis of a major profile that ran in Rolling Stone magazine in 1974, some six months before the composer's death. The condition of the disc is E. Cott says he played it once and filed it away and indeed it looks new except for some faint impressions made by the paper sleeve. These impressions are inaudible. Labels are clean with no spindle marks. The cover is VG+ with the beginning of ring wear on the bottom front cover and very faintly on the bottom back. Slight fraying on bottom sleeve edge. The cover photo, by the way, was taken by Partch in 1940. Autograph appears on top of back cover, written in spidery script by Partch to Cott and dated "April 22, '73.”Disc contents:Side 1: “U.S. Highball”: San Francisco to Sparks (Track 1); Sparks to Moleen (Track 2): Moleen to Rock Springs (Track 3); Rock Springs to Little America (Track 4)Side 2: “U. S Highball” (concluded): Latin America to North Platte (Track 1); North Platte to Chicago (Track 2);“The Letter” (Track 3); “Ulysses at the Edge” (Track 4)Record will be carefully packed with plenty of insulation material, but given its rarity and value, postal insurance will be mandatory. Will ship internationally; contact us for rates. Paypal, money orders, checks accepted. Expect 10 busines days for checks to clear.
