Description
GIANTS of JAZZ   THE COMPLETE TIME-LIFE GIANTS OF JAZZ COLLECTION: 84 LPs with 28 Fabulous Booklets in 28 Box sets. LPs, BOOKLETS & BOXES are in MINT & NEAR MINT CONDITION.  The Complete Giants of Jazz Series: 28 individual box sets, each housed in a sturdy slip case and box containing 3 LP's in their original paper sleeves and a gorgeous 40-50 page booklet with a biographical essay, notes on the music, rare and unpublished photos, and a discography. These booklets are superb in their research, photographs and documentation. The writers for this series, some of whom later went on to write for Mosaic Records, read like a who's-who of jazz journalism. And at 40-50 pages each, the Giants of Jazz Booklets are 2-3 times longer than Mosaic’s.  For Henry Red Allen, Johnny Dodds, Pee Wee Russell, Ben Webster, James P. Johnson, Joe Sullivan, and others, this is the only box set solely devoted to their work that has ever been produced. Time-Life re-mastered original metal masters found in company vaults and rare 78s from rare record collectors around the globe. Some rare tracks can only be found here, others appear here in their correct speed for the first time ever.  This complete set is in phenomenal shape and is from seller’s personal collection. Some minor wear on outside of some boxes (such as minor corner scuff).  Many still in original sealed cellophane wrap. The 84 LP's & booklets are in MINT & Near-Mint condition.
