Most people would probably grade this E-, but there are just enough grey wear lines to make me want to knock it down half a grade. There are very light scratches which do not sound or affect play. There are about a dozen thin, light-grey wear lines, spaced evenly throughout the grooves; the grey lines are not thick or heavy. Light surface noise, but still very listenable, with no distortion or "fuzziness". No scuffs, digs, edge flakes, lam cracks, or any other defects other than what I've mentioned. Sissy Man Blues (B) - EE- : Very light wear, perhaps 1 or 2 barely visible grey wear lines. Numerous scratches, most of which do not sound or affect play; a few may contribute a bit to the surface noise but they are not individually distinguishable. THE SHIPPING PROCESS:Vinyl Records are shipped in professional LP mailers, with albums removed from their covers to avoid split seams (unless they are sold as "sealed", or they come in a generic sleeve). Shellac/78rpm records are shipped padded in several layers of cardboard, in a box meticulously padded with styrofoam peanuts. IF YOU REQUEST I will add a 12" square of cardboard to LP packages for added protection against warping, jostling, and cover damage. I do not do this as a habit because it adds weight and thus cost to shipping, and 95% of the time, records arrive in perfect shape without this precaution. However, for very rare or expensive records, I recommend it. You must request this before making your payment, as it adds to the package weight and thus adds to the shipping cost. I tape each open edge of the package. I write "Fragile", "Do Not Bend", and "Keep Away From Heat" on the package in red marker. REFUNDS?If you receive a record that you feel is mis-graded, you can send it back for a refund, including the shipping costs you were originally charged (but not your return shipping costs). For 78's I use the system my Father used for 42 years (N, N-, E+, E, E-, V+, V, V-, with half-steps in-between each of these grades)I grade each record by eye under bright light, and by ear when there are any visible defects. For especially rare or desirable items, feel free to request that I give it a detailed listen, or post additional photos -- please use your common sense, don't waste my time having me do this with $5 records. Such behavior will put you on my banned bidder list. I expect these requests to come from reasonably knowledgeable collectors for appropriately desirable records (eg $15+ value records).
