Each of our G&L ASAT Deluxe guitars are custom ordered from the factory and are unique, one-off custom instruments made to ProGuitarShop specifications. You will not find a custom made guitar like this anywhere in the world for this price. This guitar easily ranks among the finest instruments we've had in the shop. We've had a number of impressive high-end guitars in the shop, (many of which retail for more than twice as much as the ASAT Deluxe) so we know of what we speak. G&L ships these guitars from the factory perfectly intonated, meticulously set-up, in tune, and ready to rock. The necks are absolutely buttery, as well as being very easy on the eyes. They nearly play themselves. If you can get your fingers in the right spots the G&L ASAT Deluxe will do the rest. Strum this ASAT Deluxe for a moment unplugged and you'll notice the incredible natural resonance and sustain - pretty unheard of for a Tele-style guitar. You will also note how light this guitar is. Compared to your average Telecaster it is nearly anti-gravity. Vintage rockers rejoice! Once plugged in, you'll immediately notice how incredible the Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups are. The G&L ASAT Deluxe features a Seymour Duncan TB-4 JB Model humbucker in the bridge position and a Seymour Duncan '59-N in the neck position for a huge range of tonal options. Hit a few notes and you'll be rewarded with ringing, harmonically rich tones that rival a lot of vintage instruments. No kidding. This guitar sound wicked good. G&L ASAT Deluxe in Gold Metallic The G&L ASAT Deluxe is an innovative blend of traditionalism and modern, forward-thinking guitar design. It features the most classic of Fender's bolt-neck guitar shapes, a Double-Bound Mahogany body, and two Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups. This custom-made instrument features several deluxe upgrades as well, including a stunning birdseye / flame maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, hand-rubbed Gun Oil finish on the neck, premium Gold Metallic Sparkle finish, and a deluxe G&L Tolex case with black interior. Innovative ASAT Deluxe Features:. A recent G&L innovation is the Non-Compression Truss Rod design. This newest non-compression design incorporates a dual rod setup that is vastly superior to older single-rod design. It makes use of a second rod which bows away from primary rod. Unlike a vintage truss rod configuration, this design does not compress the neck longitudinally to do its job. Neck compression is undesirable because it often distorts the curve of the fretboard. The Non-Compression design's operation is both fluid and accurate with regard to the articulation of the neck, the "relief" being very consistent across the length of the neck. The latest construction method uses a one piece neck blank with the truss rod installed underneath the fingerboard. In the case of an all-maple neck, a layer of the maple neck blank is sliced off and this slice becomes the fingerboard, ensuring the consistent appearance of a solid, one-piece maple neck. The glue joint in this case is actually stronger than the wood, so the overall stability and resilience of the neck is increased substantially as well. The G&L ASAT Deluxe features the G&L Saddle-Lock Bridge. This bridge system has a number of interesting design elements that contribute to this guitar's tremendous sustain and tone. There is a small Allen screw on the side of the bridge that presses all the saddles together, allowing them to resonate together as one solid mass and eliminating the side-to-side vibration that robs so many guitars of tone. This design has also eliminated the need for string-through-body construction, allowing the ASAT Deluxe to be strung through the bridge. Also, there is a protrusion built into the Saddle-Lock bridge that fits into the end-grain of the swamp ash body, transferring string resonance directly to the core of the guitar for incredible sustain.
