DR-II's audio performance matches that of far more expensive tapes, making it a very good value for the dollar. Brand new in manufacturer's original packaging High bias, IEC Type II, EQ 70us For optimum Nakamichi recording performance, set the EQ button to 70. On playback, you can change this to 120 if you like a little mid and hi frequency boost. For a crisper sound of old recordings on playback, set the EQ button to 120. Tapes not made on your own deck may need this boost. In really muddled sounding Hi-bias recordings, set your tape type to Type I (normal bias).
