Description
Thank you for bidding on our auction! To see other items that we have available for sale, used or new, please visit Blackbirdaudio.com or call us at 619-449-2787 Up for auction is MFSL's (Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs') remarkable effort at reissuing all thirteen original British versions of these albums (14 actual records - The Beatles white album is a two record set) and are mastered from the original Abbey Road Studio master tapes. Each album has a picture of the actual studio tape in it's box, along with the engineer's log sheet and each LP rests in these covers in upscale protective record sleeves. Each album's cover art, both front and back, are published in a full LP-size booklet and are included in its own slot in the record case. Such great attention to packaging could only be topped by their use of high-density virgin vinyl and half-speed mastering which produced a quality to this music that up to that time, was never realized. Of course, chances are that if you're already familiar with Mobile Fidelity and their efforts, you'll already know that they have since gone on to produce a wealth of other very well regarded reissues - but the Beatles Box set is perhaps one of the most desirable . I've inspected each record and have not found any surface marks at all (no buffs or scratches). In fact, careful examination of the record labels on each side revealed that there are no scratches or marks at all from the center spindle of a turntable when trying to place the record on the platter. These records all make for a very sonically clean collection as it's my opinion that they have seen very little play on most of them at all. While I'd rate the records, based on visual inspection to be 10/10, the box set's case itself, I'd rate as an 8/10 as even though it's in really nice condition and presents itself well, there is a little bit of wear on the bottom corners from being moved around and worn (but just a little) and the finish on the box's metal clasp and hinges have tarnished and worn - but look at the photos. . Titles include: PLEASE PLEASE ME WITH THE BEATLES HARD DAYS NIGHT BEATLES FOR SALE HELP RUBBER SOUL REVOLVER SGT. PEPPERS THE BEATLES (white LP - 2LPS) YELLOW SUBMARINE MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR ABBEY ROAD LET IT BE Feel free to call or email with any questions you might have about this collection and I'll do my best to answer them but please do not ask me to divulge our reserve. In fairness to the other bidders, I will not give out that information. I will say that the reserve is set within reasonable striking distance of what these sets have been selling for here on eBay. It's easy enough to see what the "going rate" has been for these records so there is no real secret to it.We'll see to it that this set is boxed up properly for safe, insured shipping (not included). We do not charge a handling fee on shipping nor do we mark up the shipping costs. We simply pass that along. We accept all major credit cards and only ship to the same address that the card is billed to. Your payment through Paypal is welcome too. Please be certain about your bidding and what we are offering. Our description is accurate and while this is not a "perfect condition" offering (what is, if it's not in a sealed box?) it is, however, display worthy and the condition of each record is outstanding. All sales are final.
