Description
1969 • Apple Records, 3362 • 7½ IPS. History: The only album solely credited to the Plastic Ono Band, Live Peace in Toronto 1969, was recorded during the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival Festival in September that year and featured Eric Clapton on lead guitar (fresh from the breakup of Blind Faith), Klaus Voorman on bass (an old friend of Lennon's from Germany who was famous for the cover art of the Beatles' Revolver album, and Alan White on drums. Fronting the group naturally, were Lennon and Ono. Live Peace in Toronto 1969, though not making the British charts was a US hit album reaching #10 and going gold. Side one comprised John's set, which included his two Plastic Ono Band singles for the year "Give Peace A Chance" and a preview of the yet-to-be released “Cold Turkey". Condition: There is a small reel-edge split on one side of the box and some shelf wear mostly on the front. The tape, reel and box are in good condition. There is an Ampex self-mailer for a “Stereo Tape Catalog” included in the box. I listened to both sides of the tape and did not find any breaks or splices. There's background hum in portions of this recording that I’m not sure is part of "live" recording. This tape is already packaged for shipping and will be addressed to the winning bidder and delivered to USPS the same day (within 24 hours) after payment is received.
