Description
booksfromspace Store Amazing Psychedelic Original Drawing - 1972 - Conklin? Amazing Original Psychedelic Drawing from 1972Original 1972 psychedelic drawing, looks like it was inspired by Lee Conklin's design for the 1968 Bill Graham Fillmore poster, BG 134. and just as good! The detail in this drawing is unbelievable, you can look at it for hours, masses of figures and images all over the place. Drawn with a featherlight touch in what appears to be ball-point, on stiff card approx. 16 1/4 inches across at the widest point. Signed within the design with the artist's monogram and dated, '72. Glues stains and a second signature with inscribed title and dedication on the reverse side. "Flight of the Mulatto - Tribute to Miguel Angel Asturias,"(Miguel Angel Asturias was the first Guatamalan Nobel Prize-Winner for Literature, 1967) The drawing is signed again on the reverse, unfortuantely the signature on this side has been obliterated by old glue stains and paper-skinning from previous mounting. The highly unusual shape of the drawing has two parts that extend out from the main shape, one of these is tiny and the other is approx. 7 cm long. The extreme tips of these are weakened with age but still intact. This is one of those items that commands an immediate response with most people, it's fascinating and mysterious. It's packed with psychedelic subliminal imagery. A rare early 1970's original artwork. The images here give an approximate idea of the quality of this item. The color variations are due to overhead lighting. If you'd like to see bigger images, please forward me know your email and I'll send some.
