AUDIOPHILE SYSTEM SONY, DCM time window, TECHNICS, APT Start Price USD 750.00 Current Price USD 750.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, September 01, 2008 End Time Monday, September 08, 2008 Location Evansville, IN See more about 'AUDIOPHILE SYSTEM SONY, DCM time window, TECHNICS, APT ' Description I thought I would list my own personal stereo system to possibly see if anyone might be interested in an excellent system as a package deal.  If there is no interest I will probably break the system up into individual components at a later date.   A majority of these high end components are from the mid 1970’s, but a few are newer 80’s-90’s pieces (if that newer).  Again this is MY OWN EQUIPMENT.  It has always had the best care, is in excellent physical condition, and all systems work as they should.  It is, however, a little dusty from sitting around.      TURNTABLE -  Technics - direct drive - Model SL1300  Stylus is an Ortofon LM10 CASSETTE DECK – Technics RS-TR535   Dual cassette recorder/player TUNER  -  Yamaha T-500   AM/FM tuner with presets CD PLAYER  -  Sony CDP-C335   5 disc APT/HOLMAN Preamp I known most of you will not recognize this name.  This company was started back in the mid 70’s by a bunch of MIT graduates and a man named Holman (Advent, THX, Lucas Films).  Their goal was to produce super clean and clear components using only the finest electronic components and superior electrical design.   Their components always were listed as the best of the best by numerous stereo mags of that day.  Unfortunately they were only in business for about 5 years before they disbanded. APT 1 POWER AMPLIFIER Same goes for this piece.  It is only about 65 amps, but you can compare it to anyone else’s 140 amp because of the efficient power transmission design.  Total Harmonic Distortion is way low and the amp even measures and lets you know when you are reaching a “clipping” level so you do not damage other equipment.  I have all the actual lab tests that were shipped with the two APT pieces showing performance levels. DBX -117  Expansion Compression Component.  Most of you audiophiles should know what this does. REEL TO REEL  -  SONY TC-755  10 ½ “ Everythings works great. SPEAKERS  -  DCM  Time Windows   Serial Numbers 27716 & 27717.  Again a truly efficient speaker design.  I remember that these were rated as the best speaker for  under $2000 back in the 70’s.  I think they retailed for about $800.  They were pretty much untouchable except for very very high end stuff.     The retail on all this equipment was well in excess of $3,500 back in 1980 dollars.  If anyone has any questions I will try and do my best to answer those.  Because of the size and bulk involved, local pickup is suggested, but I will ship if you make the arrangements and pay the money.
