78 RPM Record Demos Music Vintage NYC WWII Musician New York City Swing and Jazz Tunes 1940s 1950s WWII Start Price USD 2,100.00 Current Price USD 2,100.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, November 21, 2008 End Time Monday, December 01, 2008 Location Rochester, New York See more about '78 RPM Record Demos Music Vintage NYC WWII Musician' Description For sale is an original group of WWII memorabilia.  All of the following come from the same Veteran, Matt Scherzi , who was also a musician in Rochester, NY and New York City.  The timeframe of this collection starts in 1936 and includes all of the war years, into the early 1950s.  Included in this collection are eight large scrap books filled with newspaper clippings of famous people and events.    Also included: Pictures of veterans, family and friends Foreign Money Postcards Pictures of airplanes, trucks, motorcycles (many have dates and places written on the back) Pictures of beautiful woman Holiday Greeting Cards Train Ticket Approximately 150 recording studio demos of famous musicians, such as, Harry James, Artie Shaw, Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller and many other famous recording artists of the day.   I have listened to most of the records and most are in good condition, however, some have deteriorated and cannot be listened to any longer.    It is a possibility that some are one of a kind.  There is some great jazz and swing music to listen to on these old vinyl records.      Also included is a collection of bar room swizzle sticks with the names of the different bars written on them.  These were very popular in the New York City area in the 1940s and 1950s.  There are as many as 500 items in this collection and all of them are very interesting.  I have only been able to take pictures of some of the items and I have picked out the best ones.  VERY IMPRESSIVE-This is a great chance to own this one of a kind group of  American memorabilia.  And have it for the holidays.
