Description
In 1972, 1000 7" 45's were pressed in Nashville, Tennessee from this (one and only) two track 1/4" 15 ips stereo master tape. Most of the labels had MACABRE misspelled as MACBRE and the quality of the pressing was mediocre at best. NO OTHER records, tapes, CD's, MP3's or anything else have EVER been produced from this original master tape recorded at Affiliated Recording Studios in Washington, DC. Mitch Corday was the recording engineer for the session produced by Phillip Knudsen for Intermedia Productions. The session was mixed live directly to the two track stereo master tape with no overdubs. Macabre band members: Bobby Liebling - vocals Vincent McAllister - guitar Greg Mayne - bass Geof O'Keefe - drums  The guitar amps and monster speakers at the session were Marshalls purchased for the band and "broken in" at wall shaking volume at the Mailing Warehouse in Northern Virginia where the band played on and on and on with only an occasional toke break with me sitting in the best seat in the house.    So how, you might ask, have any releases or compilations of that original 1972 "Be Forewarned/Lazy Lady" session (other than the original 1000 7" 45's) been produced and from what source? Good question, since I have had the master in my possession since it was returned to me from the presser and I gave Bobby the mediocre quality 45's. The master tape has never left storage until I recently pulled it out to give it an audition on my Revox A700 two track machine. Careful storage has kept the master tape sounding as good today as it did in 1972. The tape is stored tails out on a NAB hub in its original Scotch 206 box. I will assemble a 10 1/2" Scotch metal reel on the NAB hub if so requested prior to shipping. Who knew Bobby would become a revered icon of Doom Metal? I sure didn't back then. I had visions of him going the way of Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and others so I parted ways with Bobby and the band shortly after the "Be Forewarned/Lazy Lady" session. Got a question? Just ask. Authenticity guaranteed (I produced the session). International bidders welcomed.  Shipping with insurance and tracking is free within the USA.
