Description
Hello, Thanks for looking! My uncle served in Vietnam and has asked me to see if anybody might be interested in these tapes.  I told him to write down some details for a description for me and I would see what happens.  Here it is... "In 1968 in Dong Ha Vietnam near the DMZ, the 1st Battalion 40th Artillery (ARTY) started a Tape Club.  Music was taped and placed on 7 inch reels while everybody ordered their Pioneer set up and Akai reel-to-reel tape machines.  The music taped played 24/7 out of the hooch.  Each tape has a page listing of all the songs and artist that was typed and copied in each box.  Unfortunately, our house in Houston was robbed and my brand new equipment was stolen.  I brought back the tapes but have never played them because we couldn't replace the tape player." I wrote down some of the artists from the typewritten lists.  One case did not have a page, but the content is written on the back. (see picture) Three of the cases did not have their pages.  Wonder what is recorded on those? At the top of each list it says, " 3 3/4 IPS 1st Bn, 40th Arty Tape Club" Roy Orbison, The Sandpipers, Boots Randolph, Dean Martin, Guitar Underground, Ray Charles, Rolling Stones, Doors, Soundtrack - Good, Bad & The Ugly, The Graduate, Music to Spy By, The Seekers, Peter, Paul & Mary, The 5th Dimension, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Motown Sound Vol 5, The Ventures, Frank Sinatra, The Bob Crewe Generation, Nancy Wilson, Sam Taylor, Wayne King, Laurindo Almeido, Andy Williams, Jack Jones, Dionne Warwick, Herb Albert & the Tijuana Brass, Trini Lopez, Joan Baez, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Kingsmen,  Nancy Sinatra, Mamas & Papas, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Dr. Zhivago soundtrack, Petula Clark, Tom Jones, The Young Rascals, Sonny and Cher, Herman's Hermits, and many, many more. It looks like these are entire album recordings, some are just titled "Modern Jazz" or "Guitar Love". Makes me wish I could listen to them, what a great start for a collector! The tapes appear to be in great condition.  Some of the cardboard cases show some age wear & tear.  I asked my uncle about that and he said, "They traveled around Vietnam with me, I think they look pretty good!" You are bidding on a box of thirty-six (36) reel-to-reel tapes of recorded music.  I pack all items carefully and ship with tracking number.  If you desire another form of shipping than USPS, please let me know.  Insurance is not included, but recommended. Thanks!
