Description
For your consideration is this collection of 15,000+ 78 records along with a few thousand company sleeves, lots of company record albums, some with some nice tooling, etc. There are lots of album sets with 4 or more records. I have tried to count everything three times in boxes, albums, etc., but I keep getting a different number. The first time I attempted this, I thought I was at 16,000 to 18,000, but the next time I counted, it was lower. I am estimating 15,000+ so I am not too high. This is the best estimate I am going to get because this took me a few hours and to remove everything from boxes and physically count everything -- I just don't have the time and I don't want to do it. There are promos, acetates, and the like; foreign records from Russia, France, Germany, Italy, 10" and 12" with one side recorded or both. Categories are everything imaginable such as Jazz, Blues, Old Rock, Classical, Opera, Hawaiian, Seasonal, Country, etc. As for labels and artists there are stacks and stacks of the common labels like Columbia, Capitol, Victor, Okeh, Bluebird, Brunswick, Decca, etc., in all different colors and styles. They go all the way back to the thicker records and electric. Of course there is a nice selection of all the well known artists such as Bing Crosby, Sinatra, Dorsey, Goodman, Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, and in the country category like Tubbs, Wills, Monroes, Frizell, H. Williams and so on and on!! This is just a portion of some of the other labels and artists that I jotted down while going through the collection. Please bear in mind that this is by no means a complete list, but thought this might help a little more. LABELS: Keynote, C&G, Collector Jazz, Savoy, Duke, Kay Cee, Freedom, FM, New Jazz, DeeJay, Roost, Madison, Spiro, Fantasy, Round UP, Etna, Belxa-Grand, Enterprise, Kim, Pearl, Telefunken, Empire, Polyphon, Major, Lakeside, Edson, Black and White, United, King, Pan America, Wallis Original, Melotone Electric, Varsity, Abbey, Regent, Score, Jazz Series, Medallion, Colonia, Columbia Phonograph, Purita, Lyric, Parlophone, Sun, Acompo, Apex, Puritan, Abbott, Starr, MGM Program Transcriptions, MGM, Aristocrat, Tono, Hi Lo, Trumpet, Varo, Vita, Excelsior, Hy-Tone, Liberty, Rhondo, Juke Box, Diva, Arco, Music Masters, Studiodisc, Town & Country, Big Town, Fortune, Okeh with Indian, Federal, His Master’s Voice, La Voce Del Padrone, Collegiate, Intro, Roulette, Rex, Polydor, Climax, Zonophone, Sterno, United Record, Arion, Romany, Blue Records, Deluxe, Verve, Clef Series, Hollywood Records, United Artists, Gee, Chess, Champion, Recorded in Hollywood, Essex, Tunpac, Paramount, Sonart, Globe, D&R, Weston, JoCo, Gilt Edge, Gem, Apollo, Damon, Folk, Westport, Kentucky, Park, Republic, Western Jubilee, Manor, Coast Records, Castle, Opal, Hi-Tone, Atkan, Crystal, Broadway, Starday, Fabor, Old Timer, Top Hat, Tennessee, Black Mt. Records, Rodeo, Cowboy, Dixie Jamboree, Clarion, Discovery, Bell, Hillart, Coronet, Shome, Grand, Royalty, X, Oriole, London Star, Atlas, Cosmos, Allegro, Ragtime, Van Dyke, JEB, Duke, Lyric, Odeon, etc. ARTISTS: Big Maybell, Wynonie Harris, Willie Bryant, Little Caeser, Frankie Lymon, Johnny Otis, Bobby Charles, Memphis Slim, Sippie Wallace, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Buddy Knox, Jimmie Rodgers, Bill Samuels, Billy Mitchell, The Three Flames, The Four Dukes, Johnny Fuller, St. Charles Thompson’s All Stars, The Shadows, Smokey Hogg, Captain Stubby, Billy Ward & Dominoes, Dominoes, Herbie Stewart Quintet, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lonnie Johnson, Ethel Ennis, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Fats Dominoe, Carter Family, Cecil Uto and the Fifty-oners, York Brothers, Pinetoppers, Blacky Crawford, Alan Flatt and Night Owls, Johnny Western, Royalires, Eddie Vinson, Little Willie John, Elder Beck & His Religion in Rhythm, Cat Anderson, The Blue Jays, Tommy Magnew, Tab Smith, Coon Sanders, Bull Moose Jackson, Buffalo Bearcats, Ruth Wallis, Louis Russel, Lawrence Cook, Julia Lee, Paul Pendleton, Tommy Clayton, Emil Dewan Quintones, Slim Tex, Eddie Jefferson, Bumble Bee Slim, Walter Davis, The Four Blades with Herbie Layne, Four Queens, Four Rhythmnettes, Johnny Ace, Blip Thompson, Vanguards, Luke McDaniels, Drifters, Jimmy Preston, Buster Bennett, etc. If the collection does not sell quickly, I will go back in the storage and list more artists and labels as time permits. AS FOR CONDITION: The very best I can do is give a range of the overall condition of the collection in its entirety which is poor to mint. The majority of the collection would fall somewhere between very good- to near mint. I am not an expert on records or a collector, but do have a little knowledge in a lot of areas including records. I buy collections at times in many areas of antiques, collectibles, etc. I am selling this collection as is, no returns. With that said, I am willing to give a fair and right partial refund to the buyer should he/she have a significant disagreement with the collection. For example with the count or rating, etc. I know that saying this will take some of the record dealers and/or collectors out of buying consideration, but I am not going to have the time for anyone to come and take a look before deciding to hit that Buy It Now button. First and foremost, I don't have the time. Secondly, I could only have one person at a time come and the collection is too large for any one person to try and go through all the boxes . . . it would take hours. Thirdly, I don't want to have to box everything up and wait for the next appointment. I have sold other record collections larger than this one on eBay with the same stipulation and have very satisfied buyers. This probably goes without saying, but the buyer will have to make arrangements to pick up the collection. If you want the collection shipped, the buyer will have to pay for all packaging supplies (tape, bubble wrap, boxes, etc). Whatever freight company is chosen, the buyer will have to choose the one that will come to the storage unit and pick everything up. I would ask that the buyer work directly with his/her chosen shipper along with paying them directly since my first preference is that the collection is picked up. We are located in the Greater Kansas City, Missouri area. PAYMENT METHODS: PAYPAL ONLY. IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE THE US, YOU MUST WRITE TO US FIRST. YOU MUST ALSO HAVE A CUSTOMS BROKER ALREADY IN PLACE BEFORE BIDDING ON THIS COLLECTION. We absolutely have no way of knowing exact weights, number of boxes, etc. It would just be much easier if the buyer was able to pick everything up, but we will help you however we can. Here are the images. Sorry for the hap-hazard way everything looks. I had some other things in the storage unit that had to be moved out before I could take pictures. I put the albums on this redwood piece only for the purpose of taking photographs. In case you were wondering, that table is supported underneath and is not sitting on top of the records. Lots of album books like these. Some have really nice tooling, some are HMV. Lots of company names, styles, colors, and sizes, etc. Nice selection of company sleeves.
